In 1927, Hilla Rebay, a German baroness and artist, moved into a studio at Carnegie Hall. Rebay attended hundreds of concerts and rehearsals in the Hall, often taking her sketchbook with her. The unpublished sketches in this collection show musicians at Carnegie Hall caught in moments of practice and performance over the next two decades.
