Carnegie Hall Booking Ledger, volume 51

The Booking Ledgers were used to schedule every event that took place in Carnegie Hall’s three auditoriums from 1955-2007. The ledgers include rare documentation of the many great artists who performed at the Hall over the past half-century as well as the many important music managers who presented events, crossing all musical genres. They also chronicle a wide range of non-musical events such as lectures, meetings, and civic rallies.

Carnegie Hall began using scheduling software in the late 1990s, but the Hall’s Booking Director continued to keep the ledgers as back-up documentation. They were discontinued after the 2006-2007 season.
